We carried out the researches of the spatial distribution of halophilic bacteria communities in saline soils and highly mineralized lakes in the arid regions of Caspian Depression. We found out that the main components of microbial flora of Terek-Kuma and Terek-Sulak provinces are chemoautotrophs of Virgibacillus, Bacillus, Halomonas and Salimicrobium genera, and Firmicutes and Proteobacteria phyla. Strains showed their ability to produce catalases, proteases, amylases, as well as that they were sensitive to 14 antibiotics of fluoroquinolones, cephalosporins and macrolides groups. This data is scientifically and practically significant for the study of spatial distribution of halophilic bacteria in the arid conditions, and their biotechnological value.
Keywords: microbial diversity, halophilic bacteria, ecosystems, saline soils, highly mineralized lakes, salt concentration.
