It is revealed that the grey-brown soils of the arid steppes lost about 50% depth of the humic horizon, nitrogen content diminished twice and relatively in less degree – mobile combinations of phosphorus and potassium at long intensive unsystematic cattle grazing. The physico-mechanical characteristics also deteriorated – soil density increased, the valuable silty fractions were leached on the top of profile, the soil structure deteriorated at expense of pulverization, the valuable water – resistant aggregates content was reduced.
Keywords: grey-brown soils, pasture load, reserve regime, regular and unsystematic grazing.
