“Arid Ecosystems” publishes original scientific research articles on terrestrial and water ecosystems, and environment in arid and semiarid territories:

• studies of arid territories: ecological conditions and factors of ecosystems state, origin and dynamics in different scales (from local to regional);
• studies of external state and dynamics of arid ecosystems: composition, structure, functioning, diversity, ecology; paleo-history, dynamics under anthropogenic and natural factors impact (including climate changes and water supply), biological resources and biodiversity on different levels, development of investigations and mapping methods with GIS technology;
• problems of desertification: theoretical and practical issues of modern aridization processes under anthropogenic impact and global climate changes;
• arid ecosystems conservation and protection: development of theory and methods of degradation prevention, monitoring, ecosystems renovation and rehabilitation methods.
